Neurodivergent - Executive Dysfunction Club
Inspired by the nostalgia of Summer camp and park rangers this design is meant to empower those of us that struggle with executive dysfunction by making us visible to each other! Join the club!
As an OCDer executive dysfunction affects me especially in the last two years with all the extra pandemic extra stressors. I have spent a lot of time in the last couple of years now coming to terms with my brain function and realizing that there's nothing necessarily 'wrong' with my thinking other than that it deviates from the norm. Knowing myself and being gentle with myself makes me realise that we actually have super powers of creativity and perspective. I also notice that we flock together with a large portion of my client base being either adhd, autistic or OCDers. There's a comfort level we find with each other, talking over each other, our conversations branching out all over the place and maybe or maybe not coming back to a point but how freeing it is to interact with those that think similarly, that don't judge sensitivities to sound, touch, smell and change. I've spent a lifetime with people trying to 'fix me' when there's been nothing wrong with me, my brain beats to it's own fabulous rhythm and though the struggle is often real, it's often that way because this world isn't alway designed for neurodivergent people. That's the struggle, living in a world not designed for you.
